Mi Notebook Air Is Xiaomi’s First Laptop Specifications
Chinese smartphone and smart device maker Xiaomi just announced its first laptop, the Mi Notebook Air thin and light Windows laptop – featuring an all metal body. The company is targeting the Apple’s MacBook Air, while showcasing comparisons charts. The company at the event also launched the Xiaomi Redmi Pro.
Xiaomi launched 12.5-inch display variant priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 35,300), and a 13.3-inch variant priced at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 51,400).
The higher end 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air comes with Intel Core i5-6200U processor, discrete Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics solution, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. Xiaomi is claiming a 9.5 hour battery life, with the battery said to charge 50 percent in 30 mins.
The smaller 12.5-inch model is even slimmer and lighter at 12.9mm and 1.07kg, respectively, but you’ll have to make do with an Intel Core M3 CPU, no dedicated GPU, just 4GB of RAM and just a 128GB SSD via SATA. An 11.5-hour battery life is claimed.
The laptops will be available in Silver and Gold colour variants. With smartphones, Xiaomi really started the trend of getting affordable phones with great specs. If it is able to do that for the laptop segment, then that would be a feather in its cap
